What is Wavegarden? Technology and venue are different things

Wavegarden is a wave-generation technology provider. A technology name is not a booking confirmation or evidence of a local opening.

Separate the supplier from the operator

A supplier develops a wave-making system; a venue operates the sessions, staffing and visitor experience at a particular location. To understand the technology, read the manufacturer. To understand a booking, read the operator’s current information.

Understand the Cove concept

Wavegarden describes Cove as a modular wave-generation system used with a designed lagoon and underwater profile. The manufacturer offers different wave settings. Which setting a visitor experiences depends on what the venue offers and what the person actually books.

Read performance claims with their assumptions

A maximum, a demonstration and a typical paid session are different measurements. Look for the configuration, wave type, measurement period and conditions behind a comparison. Do not assume a manufacturer’s output figure tells you how many waves one surfer will ride.

Find the information relevant to you

Ask a venue about ability levels, group size, coaching and cancellation terms. Ask the manufacturer for technical documentation when comparing technology. This editorial site does not represent Wavegarden and does not provide a directory of announced local projects or opening dates.
